Two-way prepositions are used with the dative case if the context is about location. The verbs typically express something static. Frequently used are verbs indicating where someone or something is situated include: stehen, h\u00e4ngen, sitzen, wohnen, leben, etc. Two-way prepositions are used with the accusative case if the context is about movement toward a goal or destination. The verbs typically express something dynamic. Frequently used are motion verbs: gehen, laufen, rennen, fahren, fliegen, etc.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, those two-way prepositions are: <strong>an, auf, hinter, in, neben, \u00fcber, unter, vor, zwischen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following exercises provide a set of examples for places where animals typically live and thus use the two-way prepositions with the dative case.
