Wir haben unsere Wohnung durch Bekannte, die selbst in diesem Wohnhaus wohnen, gefunden. Hier sind die Verh\u00e4ltnisse f\u00fcr eine Familie mit Kind hervorragend. Es gibt eine Schule, es gibt einen Kindergarten, der Ort ist nicht gro\u00df und \u00fcbersichtlich. Au\u00dferdem gibt es viele Freizeitaktivit\u00e4ten. Man kann zum Beispiel sehr gut schwimmen, radfahren und wandern. Es war auch die richtige Entfernung zum Arbeitsplatz von meinem Mann und zu mir. Deswegen haben wir die Wohnung in Burgberg gew\u00e4hlt.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Susi: <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nach meinem Studium in Salzburg bin ich wieder nach Linz zur\u00fcckgezogen. Zuerst habe ich mit meinem Partner in der Innenstadt gewohnt. Dann aber sind wir hierher an den Stadtrand in das Reihenhaus meiner Schwiegereltern gezogen, in dem mein Mann auch aufgewachsen ist. In <em>Die Wohnung, <strong>in die<\/strong> ich morgen ziehe, liegt am Stadtrand<\/em>, the relative pronoun is\u00a0<em>die <\/em>because\u00a0<em>Wohnung<\/em> is a <em>die<\/em>-noun in the singular.<\/p>\n<p>The case of the relative pronoun is determined by the relative pronoun&#8217;s function within the relative clause. When you work with a preposition, it is the preposition which defines the case. This means that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>accusative prepositions (<em>bis, durch, f\u00fcr, gegen, ohne, um)<\/em> in relative clauses also use the accusative,<\/li>\n<li>dative prepositions (<em>aus, au\u00dfer, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu)<\/em> in relative clauses also use the dative, and<\/li>\n<li>two-way-prepositions (<em>an, auf, in, neben, \u00fcber, unter, hinter, vor, zwischen<\/em>) in relative clauses use accusative for <em>Wohin<\/em>? and dative for <em>Wo<\/em>?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For example:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Since <strong><em>f\u00fcr<\/em><\/strong> is an accusative preposition, the relative pronoun is in the accusative.<br \/>\n<em>Das Schlafzimmer, <strong>f\u00fcr das<\/strong> ich noch eine Lampe brauche, hat sonst alles.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Since <em><strong>mit<\/strong><\/em> is a dative preposition, the relative pronoun is in the dative.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><em>Karin sucht eine Mitbewohnerin, <strong>mit der<\/strong> sie sich gut versteht.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><strong>In<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em><strong>auf<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>are both two-way-prepositions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Since <em><strong>in<\/strong><\/em> in the example sentence above describes <strong>destination<\/strong> (where is Karin moving to?), the relative pronoun is in the accusative.<br \/>\n<em>Die Wohnung, <strong>in die<\/strong>\u00a0Karin morgen zieht, liegt am Stadtrand.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Since\u00a0<strong><em>auf<\/em><\/strong> in the sentence above describes a <strong>location<\/strong> (where does the cat sit?), the relative pronoun is in the dative.<br \/>\nDas<em> Sofa, <strong>auf dem<\/strong> unsere Katze so gern sitzt, steht in der Sonne.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div style=\"max-width: 800px;\"><div class=\"h5p-iframe-wrapper\"><iframe id=\"h5p-iframe-147\" class=\"h5p-iframe\" data-content-id=\"147\" style=\"height:1px\" src=\"about:blank\" frameBorder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" title=\"Umzug Strukturen Relativpronomen\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"h5p-iframe-wrapper\"><iframe id=\"h5p-iframe-118\" class=\"h5p-iframe\" data-content-id=\"118\" style=\"height:1px\" src=\"about:blank\" frameBorder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" title=\"Finden Sie alle Relativpronomen im Akkusativ im Text.&nbsp;\n\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div class=\"h5p-iframe-wrapper\"><iframe id=\"h5p-iframe-119\" class=\"h5p-iframe\" data-content-id=\"119\" style=\"height:1px\" src=\"about:blank\" frameBorder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" title=\"Relative Pronouns Forms\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position of relative pronoun and verb:<br \/>\n<\/strong>In German, the preposition and the relative pronoun have to stay together. The preposition will be in front of the relative pronoun. And in front of the preposition, there is a comma.
